The third US Tour ran from 16th September 1986 to 4th September 1988.[1]

The Tour was also called the "Bus and Truck" Tour, as it was smaller, and more mobile than the 1st US Tour.

The show ran with a reduced cast of 20, having cut Coricopat and Tantomile.

Trivia[]

 • On 23rd October 2020, the cast reunited after 34 years to perform and support Broadway Cares and The Actors Fund during the pandemic. During the stream there was a contemporary take on Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats, testimonials of hope from cast members who were helped by The Actors Fund, and a spectacular performance of Memory by Leslie Ellis and Christine Toy.

 17. "Considerable Differences in 'Cats' This Time Round"
Philadelphia. March 12th 1988
This isn't the first time that the national touring company of the popular musical has visited the city of brotherly love. But hard-core "Cats" fanatics will notice some considerable differences this time around. During the company's last two appearances in Philadelphia, the set design was much more extravagant, making it easier for the feline costumed cast members to roam around the theater. While the cats still make an occasional prowl into the audience, most of the action of this back-to-basics production takes place onstage.
